Bien que Windows 8, 8.1 et 10 savent ouvrir en natif les fichiers PDF (c’est-à-dire sans avoir besoin d’un logiciel complémentaire), toutes les options ne sont pas disponibles et on peut préférer le logiciel phare des PDF : Adobe Acrobat Reader (anciennement Adobe Reader tout court mais déjà Acrobat avant). Le logiciel Adobe Reader est gratuit et permet de lire des fichiers PDF.
